How to take care of yourself the way you take care of others

I think most of us can agree that we show more grace and love to others than we do ourselves. But, why? Consider this your permission slip to care for yourself the way you care for the people you love.

Here are some simple self-care ideas to integrate into your lifestyle:

Go on a walk:

  • Sunlight is crucial! Give yourself a chance to breathe fresh air and get in some sun!

Ask for what  you need:

  • Most of us have loved ones that would stop at any moment to give us a hand when we need one. Don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it! It may also encourage others to reach out to you in return.

Make time for movement:

  • Move your body in a way that you enjoy! Yoga, dancing, quick hike or outdoor walk, run, pilates, lift weights, whatever makes you feel good! Movement gives your mind space to think and your body a chance to reset.

Book the massage:

  • You know you’ve always wanted one! You don’t have to wait for a special occasion to book a massage. You’re guaranteed to feel refreshed and relaxed afterwards.

Take the extra long hot shower:

  • Nothing is more refreshing than a nice -uninterrupted- shower, especially for us busy mamas. *Extra long* is the key phrase here,  because jumping in the shower for 2 minutes because you haven’t showered in 3 days is not considered self-care!

Hire the coach:

  • For all you mamas that have fallen off the track, this one is a game changer. Your health and fitness is equally as important now as it was before you started chasing littles around.

Start the business:

  • You can give yourself space for pursuits that bring you joy! If you’ve had a business idea that you always gravitate back to, crunch the numbers, make the plans, and make it happen!

Simply put, do the things you need to do - and WANT to do - that you’ve always seen as selfish before. You deserve to take care of you the same way you take care of others!
